The Ross Redmond Trio

A modern take on familiar songs — reimagined through jazzy piano, bass, drums, and voice.

From Jazz Trio to One of DFW's Most Versatile Live Bands

We're just as comfortable playing jazz standards as we are reimagining Van Morrison, Sublime, and The Killers — all adapted into a groove-forward trio format. Without a guitar, the arrangements feel inventive, stripped-back, and distinctly ours. It's familiar music, delivered in a way your guests won't expect.

FAQ's

Have more questions? I'm happy to answer them.

The Trio works especially well for cocktail hours, dinners, private parties, and corporate events where you want live music that enhances the atmosphere without overpowering it.

We can keep things subtle and conversational, or build energy as the night unfolds.

We take familiar songs and rework them into a groove-forward trio format—pulling from jazz, pop, and rock. Our song list draws from the last 6 decades, so you can expect a wide variety.

Everything is arranged for piano, bass, drums, and voice, so it feels fresh, musical, and a little unexpected.

Yes—happy to include a few requests, especially for key moments. We can learn up to 3.

If there's something meaningful you'd like included, just let me know ahead of time and I'll make sure it fits naturally into the set.

No—that's one of the advantages of this group.

We're able to control volume easily, which makes us ideal for events where conversation matters. The energy is there when you want it, but it never takes over the room.

The Trio has a small footprint compared to a full band.

We can fit comfortably in most event spaces, both indoors and outdoors, without requiring a large stage or complicated setup. An area of 10x10, or 7x14 is the minimum requirement.

Yes—we bring a professional sound system appropriate for the space and event.

Two main things: the fresh approach to the music, and the volume control.

The material is familiar—pop, rock, and jazz tunes from the last 6 decades. Reimagining pop and rock songs without guitar gives us a jazzy twist that feels lighter and unexpected.

As for our control over the volume, our drummer knows how to use a light touch, and is a master at keeping an energetic groove without getting too loud.

Yes.

We can start with a more relaxed, background feel and gradually build into something more upbeat as the event progresses.

For events centered around a packed dance floor, my full band High Def is a better fit.

It just depends on the event. Our maximum performance time is 4 hours with 2 short breaks. I'm happy to coordinate with your planner or venue to make sure everything flows smoothly.

Dates can fill up quickly, especially during peak wedding and event seasons. If you have a date in mind, it's best to reach out several months in advance.

Reach out with your event details—date, location, and type of event—and I'll take it from there.
