Private In-Home Piano Lessons in Dallas and Corinth

Skip the commute and let the music come to you. I provide professional, in-home piano instruction designed to turn students into lifelong musicians.

Are you tired of hearing ‘Heart and Soul’ on repeat?

My focus is on building strong musical foundations in both the jazz and classical tradition, so your child learns a variety of music—not just the same old songs everyone learns. Let’s aim higher than ‘Hot Cross Buns.’

With a Jazz Piano degree from UNT and 20+ years as a full-time Dallas performer, I bridge the gap between academic foundation and real-world musicality.

Student Lessons

Students aren’t just memorizing songs—they’re learning how music works and how to think like musicians.

What Students Learn

The Fundamentals: Sight-reading, theory, and proper technique

Repertoire: Balance of Classical, Contemporary, and Jazz

The "Cool" Stuff: Learning by ear, improvisation, and reimagining their favorite pop/rock songs

Adult Lessons

It’s never too late to start playing piano.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to the instrument after years away, I provide personalized instruction tailored to your experience level and musical interests. Lessons are designed around your goals—from sharpening your jazz chops to learning your favorite radio pop songs.

Because lessons take place in your home, scheduling is flexible and the environment is relaxed. There’s no pressure—just steady progress and the satisfaction of learning something new.

Adult students often enjoy working on styles like jazz standards, classic pop, or contemporary songs—music they already love and want to bring to life at the piano.

Ross is a master teacher. He is engaging, sharp, patient, and meets my daughter ahead of where she is in such an easy way. We have loved having him as our piano teacher, where he challenges her to push forward each and every lesson. My 9 year old says “He’s funny and kind while practicing with me!”

Begin Piano Lessons

Because I travel to each student’s home, lessons are convenient for busy families and allow students to learn in a comfortable, familiar environment. No rushing to a studio after school. No sitting in traffic on 35.

FAQ's

Have more questions? I'm happy to answer them.

In jazz school, the goal was to develop the instrument to a point where we could, in a sense, forget it and just play without being held back by technique. That idea still shapes how I teach.

Each lesson builds a strong foundation through:

  • reading, technique, and theory
  • a balanced repertoire of classical, jazz, and contemporary
  • learning by ear
  • improvisation
  • adapting songs students already enjoy
  • musical phrasing and dynamics, so performances feel natural, expressive, and engaging

The goal isn’t just to play the right notes—it’s to develop real musical ability that lasts, and performances that actually move people.
