Meet Ross Redmond
Dallas-based pianist, bandleader, composer, and educator with 20+ years of experience across live performance, scoring, and instruction.

I’ve never had a Plan B.
As the son of two musicians, a career in music was a natural choice for me. Since graduating from the University of North Texas jazz program in 2005, I’ve spent more than two decades performing, writing, and teaching across Dallas–Fort Worth.
In jazz school, we had a mantra:
“First you learn the instrument, then you learn the music, then you forget all that and just play.”
I’ve lived by that idea ever since.Technique matters—it’s the foundation of everything I teach—but a “perfect” performance can still feel lifeless. What people actually remember isn’t the mechanics. It’s the moment the dance floor opens up. It’s the way a familiar song lands differently than expected.
With influences ranging from Herbie Hancock to Chris Stapleton, I’ve always believed that a great song transcends genre. Jazz, pop, country, soul—when the music is right, it connects.
When music works, we feel it.
Whether I'm leading a full band, performing solo piano, or composing for television, the goal is always the same: to move people. That means:
- Energy that moves the room.
- Connection that feels natural.
- Music that delivers.
That’s the standard.

Music that moves.
If you’re planning an event, producing media, or looking for focused piano instruction, I’d love to connect.
